The 2013 Hilbert College men’s soccer team has earned the right to fight for the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference league title beginning this weekend. As the sixth seeded team, Hilbert will travel to Pittsburgh, PA for the 2 p.m. contest against La Roche College on November 2.
The RedHawks (#3 seed) home field is Shaler High School and, because it is an off-campus site, we are not sure yet if the First Round game will be streamed live via BoxCast. Check HilbertHawks.com on Saturday for a possible live video link. The winners of the first round move on to face the number one and two seeded teams who earned byes. The Hilbert / La Roche winner travels to Penn State Behrend (#2) and either Mount Aloysius or Penn State Altoona will face Medaille (#1) on November 6. The championship game will be played on November 9 at the home field of the highest-remaining seed.
Also, the Hawks’ women’s volleyball team has secured a spot in the AMCC playoffs, with one match remaining before postseason play begins. Hilbert (6-2) hosts Franciscan (7-1) on Saturday at 1 p.m. If Hilbert wins on their Senior Day, they will claim the #2 seed for the AMCC playoffs and earn a bye. With a loss, the Hawks will finish no worse than the #4 seed and could possibly host a first round game next Wednesday.
Both the men’s soccer and women’s volleyball teams are heading into postseason play for the second consecutive season. Congratulations! And GO HAWKS!
