Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy, member of the Hilbert College Board of Trustees, will receive the Bar Association of Erie County’s Outstanding Jurist Award at the Association’s dinner on June 9.
From the Bar Association of Erie County Newsletter:
The recipient of the 2014 Outstanding Jurist Award is former BAEC president Hon. Jeremiah J. McCarthy, Magistrate Judge for the Western District of New York. This award is not bestowed on an annual basis but only when the BAEC board of directors believes there is a jurist whose career “exemplifies the highest standards of judicial conduct for integrity, impartiality and independence; who is knowledgeable of the law and faithful to it; who is not influenced by partisan interests, public clamor or fear of criticism; who is patient, dignified and courteous to all who appear before him or her; and who endeavors to improve the administration of justice and respect for the rule of law.”
