Four Hawks Ranked In Final NCAA Stats
HAMBURG, N.Y. – Now that the dust has settled and the Division III national champions have been crowned in women’s volleyball/men’s and women’s soccer, the final 2014 national statistics have been released.
Four Hilbert College athletes finished their seasons ranked nationally with junior Matt Hamister holding four different Top 60 rankings in men’s soccer. Also joining Hamister were three sophomores: Grace Adams (soccer), Amanda Binder (volleyball) and Brandon Henry (soccer).
Of the 200 players ranked, Hamister snatched a 41st ranking in Goals Per Game (0.72), 50th in Total Goals (13), 51st in Points Per Game (1.67) and 59th in Total Points (30). Hamister slotted a spot on the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Second Team at the conclusion of the 2014 season.
Brandon Henry protected the frame and earned a 156th ranking in Saves Per Game with 4.62 average for the Hawks soccer team.
The women’s volleyball division ranked 150 athletes and Amanda Binder finished 74th in Points Per Set (4.05) and 80th in Kills Per Set (3.44). Binder earned a spot on the AMCC All-Conference Third Team for the second consecutive season in 2014.
Playing in her first full season of competition, Grace Adams went the distance and ranked 90th with 6.47 Saves Per Game out of the 100 athletes ranked.
Hamister and Colvin Garner UPPER 90 Honors
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Matt Hamister and Jennifer Colvin were named to the UPPER 90’s 2014 All-WNY College Team in soccer this week. This marks Hamister’s second consecutive honor while Colvin joins the club after her first season as a Hawk.
Sophomore Tomas Bojkovski slotted a spot on the Honorable Mention team to cap his first post-season honor.
In his third season of collegiate competition, forward Matt Hamister was selected to UPPER 90’s 1st Team in 2014 after grabbing a spot on the 3rd team a year ago. Hamister joins three other Division III players who were named to the 11-man first team. In his second season at Hilbert, Hamister led the Hawks with 30 points from team-bests: 13 goals/four assists. He finished with a 58.8% shots on goal average after unleashing 51 shots. Additionally, the Orchard Park native earned two game-winning goals for the 4-12-1 Hawks and was an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference 2nd Team All-Conference member in 2014.
Jennifer Colvin earned a spot on the UPPER 90’s 2nd Team in her first season at Hilbert after transferring from UB. She had an immediate impact on the program from the midfielder’s position. Colvin led the Hawks with six points by way of three goals. The Alden (Iroquois) native led Hilbert with 59 shots as 29 were on goal (49.2% SOG). Colvin earned one game-winning goal for the 4-11-1 Hawks and earned the distinction of becoming one of eight non-scholarship athletes to earn a spot on the 22-women 1st and 2nd Teams.
Tomas Bojkovski started all 17 games at midfield and recorded the game-winning goal against Franciscan. The Acton, Ontario/Canada native also added two assists while gathering 14 shots on net.
