Franciscan Charism Program – April 18

And those seen dancing

were thought insane

by those who could not hear the music.

A Program addressing the Prophetic Originality of the Franciscan Charism

April 18, 2015

One day, the form of life of St. Francis will become the universal form of the Church.

The simplex et idiota will triumph over the greatest scholars. The church in

the final age will breathe the spirit of his spirit.

Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, August 15, 1969

The Bardi Dossal of St. Francis in Santa Croce, Florence, painted around 1245 is witness to the alternative vision of Francis for his church and society. Through the lens of this significant story in Art, together with Francis’ little known Salutation of the Virtues, the “blueprint for repairing God’s house,” Kathleen has designed a program that addresses the “sea changes” happening in these times toward the retrieval of the Franciscan theological tradition. This is a program rich in content, resources, exchange and new hope.

We are now at the point where we must either articulate the

intellectual inheritance by updating it into new forms of

life, thought and communication; or,

we will lose it – and with it – ourselves
