Hilbert Student-Athletes Earned Three AMCC Team Peak Performer Awards

2014-15 AMCC Team Peak Performers Awards

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) released the league’s Team Peak Performers list this afternoon and three Hilbert College teams helped the Hawks tie for the most team honors this academic year. The Team Peak Performer Award is presented to the one team in each of the conference’s 16 championship sports with the highest collective Grade Point Average in their respective sports during the 2014-15 academic year.Hilbert’s women’s cross country team not only led their running peers in the league but earned the highest cumulative GPA among all teams in the ten-member league this year.  Their 3.758 gpa earned Geoff Brunger‘s Hawks their third consecutive academic honor.

Both the women’s soccer (3.398) and men’s volleyball (3.169) teams at Hilbert swept their sport’s category for the fourth straight season dating back to 2011-12 when the AMCC began honoring academic success.

The women’s basketball  team studied their way to a 3.368 gpa and earlier this afternoon were announced as the AMCC Team Peak Performers.  But a calcualtion error has been corrected but the league office and Pitt.-Bradford’ 3.408 earned the Panthers their first WBB award.

Hilbert now shares the most honors with Penn St. Behrend and Penn St. Altoona as they all earned three awards each.  Mt. Aloysius grabbed a pair and  D’Youville, Pitt.-Greensburg, Medaille and Franciscan completed the eight-team Team Peak Performer winners.
