Hilbert’s Pair Named AMCC Runners of the Week
PITTSBURGH, Pa – For the first time in the program’s history, two Hilbert College cross country athletes were selected as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Runners of the Week.
Ryan Zielinski has competed in every race for the Hawks this fall. He is constantly improving his technique and has been able to lower his times as he grows into a collegiate runner. He covered the 8K Paul Short Run on October 2 in 32:23, cutting almost 80-seconds off his personal best inhis young career. The West Seneca native’s place finish is listed as 261, but the Hawks lacked that fifth runner so the team’s finish was incomplete.
Kylie Reinholz claimed a 26th place finish out of 328 runners in the Paul Short White division card. The Orchard Park native completed the 6K in 23:34 to lead the Hilbert women to a 32nd place finish out of 43 teams. Reinholz sliced 36-seconds off her previous personal best which she established at the conclusion of her sophomore year at the NCAA Mideast Regional race in November.
