HILBERT COLLEGE STUDENTS HOST FLAG FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT BENEFITING SPECIAL OLYMPICS OF WNY – NOVEMBER 7TH
HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert College students Justin Hassen, Brandon Farr, and Todd Bentley have organized a flag football tournament as a charitable event to benefit the Special Olympics of Western New York on Saturday, November 7. The students are organizing the charity event as part of the Sports Event & Organization Class. Special Olympics is an international organization that changes lives by promoting understanding, acceptance and inclusion between people with and without intellectual disabilities.
The event will be held in Hamburg, NY at Hilbert College, located at the practice field. The goal at the event is to raise around $3,000, to benefit the Special Olympics of Western New York through donations and team entry fees. Teams can consist of 5-6 co-ed players and the cost per team is $40. Teams do not need to be co-ed. Registration for all teams is encouraged to be completed by Saturday, October 31.
Donations are also accepted. The event is set to begin at 9 a.m. The goal is to reach a total of 30 teams. The flag football tournament is an absolutely no contact tournament. There will be light food and refreshments for all participants. Along with the flag football tournament there will be raffle baskets and t-shirts available for purchase with all proceeds going to Special Olympics of Western New York.
