–  Congratulations Sister Geraldine!!

DSC03146Sister Geraldine Kaczynski, FSSJ, Principal of St. Sebastian Catholic School in Dearborn Heights, was one of three individuals on whom the Order of St. Bede Award was conferred at a special Mass and Recognition Dinner held at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica in Royal Oak on Thursday, October 29, 2015 by the Bishop Michael J. Gallagher Society.

Sister Geraldine was recognized for over 40 years of service to Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Detroit.  Sister was a Principal of the Month in 1982 DSC03143through the National Catholic Educational Association and Grolier Educational Services and National Principal of the Year in 1983 from the NCEA and Grolier.  Sister was also nominated for a National Distinguished Principal Award in 2015 from the National Catholic Educational Association. Sister is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph of Hamburg, New York.  Sister has served for 8 years on the Board of Directors of Marycrest Manor in Livonia and does Parish ministry at St. Sebastian Catholic Church.


Sexual Heath and Relationship Week included numerous events throughout the week of Monday November 2nd – Friday November 6th.  The week began with Sexual Assault 101, “Hilbert in Heels”, and a candlelight prayer service.  Tuesday consisted of Ribbon Pledge & Consent Tattoos, Consent 101 Workshop, Women’s Self- Defense Class, Men’s Workshop, and “Sexting: You’re Doing it Wrong”.  Wednesday shifted to SHARE Resources at Wellness Fair, “The Hook- Up”, and a Mocktail Party.  Thursday followed up with Healthy Relationships and Cooking Class: Cooking for 2.  Firday caps the week off with Safe Zone Training and Date Night.  Hopefully you got to be a part of the eventful week!
