Athletics Update – Jan. 22

HAMBURG, N.Y. – After producing big numbers on offense and defense last week, Hilbert College’s Jerame Owens was selected and the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

The 6-6 forward paced the Hawks to another pair of wins this week with 20 points and 15 rebounds per game averages.  He also led Hilbert with 5.5 steals and added 3.5 assists per game.

Owens opened the week with 21 points, 17 rebound, five assists and four steals in the non-conference win against Alfred State.  He followed that performance with seven steals, two assists, 13 rebounds and 19 points in the AMCC victory at Greensburg.

Owens leads the league in steals per game (2.7) and averages 17.3 points and 9.8 rebounds while converting 60.9 percent of his field goal attempts.
