— Hilbert English professor Herb Kauderer had two poems appear in the Winter 2016 issue of Star*Line, “option package” a mirrored fibonacci poem, and “de-evolution” a haiku.

In addition, Professor Kauderer’s 2014 poetry chapbook, The Book of Answers has been nominated for the Elgin Award again.  The Elgin is an international award administered by the SFPA, and books are eligible for nomination for two years after publication.  The Book of Answers was supported by an arts grant from Hilbert College, and five poems from the book were nominated for individual awards: two for the Rhysling Award long category, two for the Rhysling Award short category, and one for the Dwarf Star Award.  With a second Elgin nomination, the book has garnered seven major award nominations to date.  The Book of Answers was professor Kauderer’s eight book of poetry followed by 2015’s Modern Poems of Pennsic.  The Snowstorm of ’14, his tenth book, is scheduled for publication this year.
