JBengert— On Friday, May 20th, psychology graduate, Jedidiah Bengert (pictured) was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant into the Army Reserves. The commissioning ceremony took place at Canisius College.  Congrats Jedidiah!

— Hilbert English professor Herb Kauderer has a poem in Dreams & Nightmares #102.  Dreams & Nightmares is one of the oldest and most distinguished magazines of speculative poetry in the field.  Professor Kauderer’s poetry has appeared there many times through the years starting with the April 1990 issue.

— In addition, online magazine Bewildering Stories reprinted his long poem “Star Trek Immortality” (from 2002) in their May 9, 2016 issue.
— The May issue of FrostFire Worlds, a magazine aimed at young adults, featured the work of two Hilbert Professors.  It included CSIA professor Alan Katerinsky’s poems “The Value of Science Fiction”, “Grace”, and “The Hard & the Soft”, as well as English professor Herb Kauderer’s poems “Rocket Dreams”, “Slate Dragon”, “Before Heaven”, and “Xebec”.

— In addition, the May issue of Scifaikuest included two untitled haiku and a fibonacci poem titled “below the canopy” by professor Kauderer.
