Hyman and Schwab Headline Hilbert NEAC Scholar-Athletes

2015-16 NEAC Scholar-Athletes

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its 2015-16 Scholar-Athlete team today and Hilbert College placed an all-time high number of student-athletes on the Academic All-Conference team.

16 Hawks achieved a 3.4 or higher combined grade point average for the fall and spring semesters during the 2015-16 academic year.  As a league, a total of 787 student-athletes were honored and set a new all-time high number of scholars in an academic year.

Juniors Nathaniel Hyman and Adam Zawadzki earned their third-consecutive honor for the men’s lacrosse program while, in only their second year in the league, the men’s volleyball program placed three repeat performers.

Korey Schwab, a 2016 3rd Team All-Conference player on the court, and junior Nathaniel Hyman, a 1st Team All-Conference lacrosse athlete in 2015, earned a perfect 4.0 to lead the Hilbert charge this year.

Joining Schwab in the back-to-back honors are sophomore Austin Good (lacrosse), junior Adam Heftka (volleyball), sophomore Brett Kane (volleyball), junior Matthew Simon (lacrosse) and sophomore Grant Stockman (lacrosse).

Junior lacrosse goalie Brenden Deady picked-up his second honor before his December 2015 graduation.

Receiving their first recognition this year are seniors Bryan Binaxas and David DeCocq, academic junior Tanner Makowski, sophomores Chase Harmon and Travis Hicks as well as freshmen Michael Podgorny and Elijah Ryan.

2016-17 Student-Athlete NCAA Compliance Meetings Set

Mark your calendars!

The Annual NCAA Student-Athlete Compliance meeting dates have been scheduled so that our athletes can return to campus in the fall and hit the ground running….

It is Mandatory that each student-athlete attend a meeting and be cleared to compete before (s)he will be allowed to participate in athletics during the 2016-17 academic year.

These meetings will cover all required NCAA paperwork, Hilbert College Athletics Student-Athlete Code of Conduct, as well Athletic Training policies and procedures.

Each student-athlete MUST have a physical from their primary care physician on file dated March 2016 or more recent.  All forms must be uploaded directly to a database for Greg Peri, Director of Sports Medicine.
