News & Notes – Sept. 2

Help out the CJ/FS Association with a pie in the face! On Monday, September 26th from 11:00 – 12:30 the CJ/FS Association is hosting a pie in the face fundraiser. The cost is $1 per pie!  Sign up today if you want to throw or catch pies!  Please email Mark Paoni (mpaoni@hilbert.edu) for more information, especially if you want to sign up to be “pie-faced!”

— Josh VonHaugg, a current Forensic Science student was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the International Association for Identification last week in Cincinnati.  Congrats Josh!

—  Welcome back to campus Rosemarie Schuster who will be serving as the Veteran Services Coordinator.  Rose is a Hilbert graduate and has served active duty in the Army, as well as in the National Guard and Army Reserves, completing multiple deployments.

Joining Rose is Kiel Hunter, a current Hilbert student who will be serving as Veteran Services Counselor through the VISTA program.  Kiel will split time between Hilbert and SBU.  Kiel is also an Army veteran.

Rose and Kiel will be working to recruit and retain veteran students and will be located in the Veteran Lounge area in Paczesny Hall.  Please welcome them when you see them!
