The 2016 Criminal Justice Educators Association of New York State (CJEANYS) held their annual conference Oct 19th -21st, at Golden Arrow resort in Lake Placid NY. Several students and faculty from Hilbert College attended and presented at the conference.
Presenter included Professor Randy Zimpfer (Criminal Justice) on Issue in criminal gangs and Jenna Dulak (Director of Web Services and Online Technology) presented on Innovations of online teaching. Faculty that attended was Donna Zimpfer, John Reinholz, Marty Floss (CJEANYS Executive Board), Kathy Pierino (CJEANYS Executive Board) Daniel Culver (Region 1 VP CJEANYS Executive Board). Hilbert Students included: Ben Unverhau(FS CSI), Brett Kane(CJ), Sandy Yannic (FS/CSI), Josh Von Haugg (FS/CSI), Nikki Schneider (CJ), Alexandra Hubert(CJ), Makalia Haveron(FS/CSI), Jemina Young(FS/CSI).
All attendees attended several presentations on issues and challenges of policing, corruption & integrity issues in corrections, safety on campus, criminal gangs, online education innovations, career and graduate school planning and Key Note speaker Eric Campbell: Reformation and Redemption One Man’s Story.
Additional activities included reception at the Olympic Sports Complex that included Olympic museum, curling and ice skating.
